Send The Issue To Press.

Image and video hosting by TinyPic
I went to see The September Issue yesterday with my mother, and I have to say I really enjoyed it. I had to go a little out of my way to see it because it was hardly playing anywhere here, but the drive was definitely worth it.

Just seeing the workings of a major magazine was awesome, but I also quite enjoyed seeing Anna and her daughter Bee together, as well as their dog (surprisingly not a lap dog, and quite cute). I also enjoyed everyone's criticisms about Sienna Miller, especially her hair, and a few comments made by Anna towards the camera man about his weight.

Really, it is a must see for anyone with even the slightest interest in fashion.

Also, Anna wore a lot of necklaces like the one in that photo. She had a few different colors, but that particular one seemed to be her go-to. She wore the necklace throughout the film, maybe we'll see similar necklaces everywhere soon?

Now, I don't want to sound like somebody who saw The Devil Wears Prada and liked it so much they thought it meant they were fit to work in fashion. However, after seeing The September Issue, I'd have to say it definitely cemented the fact that I want to work in fashion. I guess I've known for a while, I was debated between careers in fashion/writing/television for a bit of time in ninth grade, but ever since I'd say, the end of the first semester, I was sure. But something about the movie, there was definitely a moment where I thought, "For sure. I want to be in this field." Not to mention, I probably had the stupidest grin on my face throughout the movie.

So yeah, it was really good. Go see it! If you already have, tell me what you thought.

On to something else. My current favorite thing to do is watch 'room tours' on youtube, where people give tours of their rooms. They're quite fun to watch. I love seeing people's super organized rooms because it makes me want everything in mine to be perfect. I was even inspired to clean my bathroom up a little last night. (So hard for me to keep that clean, I always end up with my counter covered in hair and face products.)

Anyway, I don't have much going on today. I'm going to practice driving later and then I might try a little sketching before I do my homework. And then tonight, the Design Star finale is on! Have wonderful days, I'm off to eat the chocolate chip muffin my parents got me. (Late breakfast.)

Like Confucius, Baby.

There isn't much to my fashion philosophy. It's pretty simple. I just believe that great style isn't defined by always looking amazing. An outfit might not always translate so well from your head to your body, and there is nothing wrong with that. I can't tell you how many times I've planned an outfit before bed and put it on in the morning and wondering what I was thinking. Sometimes you need to take risks. Sometimes they work out, and sometimes they don't. But the fact that you tried is what matters. And confidence really does make a difference. If you tug at your clothes all day, it'll ruin a perfectly good outfit.

And here is my latest collage. I really like this one. What do you think?

I'm going to try and see The September Issue today, I'll of course let you know what I thought!

I'm listening to About You Now by Sugababes. Listen. There is also a cute Miranda Cosgrove version, so if you're into that Disney type music, here is that one too.

And It Happened Once More.

What you'll find in my purse: A magazine (this months Teen Vogue), a small sketch book, tissues, my wallet/card holder, Rolaids, Aspirin, hair clips, a ponytail holder, a spare chapstick, a lip gloss (I've been wearing Victoria's Secret, Passion Fruit Pop a lot), lotion (that one is Bath and Body Works Aromatherapy Orange Ginger), my cellphone, a pen, sticky notes, my key and flash drive, and spare change.

There usually would be a few other things in there, but I've been stowing some of my stuff away in my locker at school. In my locker I have a mini lint brush, feminine products, hand sanitizer, and more lip products.

Anyway, that didn't make for much of a post! So, I made this to share with you.

What do you need to buy for fall? I bought a leather jacket and a pair of boots recently, so I just have these few items I want. I most desperately would like a denim jacket and a boyfriend blazer. I saw somebody wearing a jean jacket over a floral dress yesterday and it was adorable!

First off, sorry about any crooked or dark pictures.

Anyway, this is my room. I thought you all might want to see the place I (usually) blog from. Now you've gotten to see my junky television (I've had it since I was in the fifth grade!), my tiny closet, and my abundance of magazines.

It's a pretty small room (my parents haven't given in to my pleas for my brother's room, but really, what does he need with it while he is at college), but I think I've made it suit me. And to think, less than two years ago it was a mess of blue and purple and pre-teen ugliness. I painted it (or my dad did) in November '07, and since then I've been tweaking it and creating a room I can live with.

Oh, and I know it is a little hard to tell in these pictures, but the one wall is a beautiful raspberry pink shade. The color of the blanket on my bed, or the frame of my closet is probably the most accurate depiction of the color. The lighting just wasn't working for me today!

For a little comparison, here are a few pictures of my room shortly after I painted it. No more shoes on the door!

PS, I noticed both the Eiffel tower and the Audrey portrait look a little crooked, that is just my (un)handy camera work.

Also, the quality of these photos is worse than the rest I've posted because I resized these in tinypic and the rest I resized in a photo editing program before I uploaded them. Guess I learned my lesson!

Just The Beginning.

Excuse the crappy pictures, but after many different attempts, I've pulled together an outfit post. This is what I wore to school today, with these shoes. The dress looks kind of shapeless in the picture, but I promise it isn't It has a cute kind of bohemian type vibe in person. The ring is my current favorite, it's definitely a statement piece and holds a lot of impact. I'm also feeling the new nail color. It's called Passion Orange and is from a line called Petites. It reminded me of My Chihuahua Bites! (which I raved about earlier) but was a much cheaper alternative. I figured I'd put most of my money towards fall and winter colors, and just use a cheapie version of this because it is summer-y.

Looking back at that picture I look like a total grandma, but it definitely didn't look that way in person.

I made another blog advertisement type thing on Polyvore.

And here is my new favorite song. (My last favorite was by Tyler Hilton too, but I really love this.)

I'm Not Your Project.

Image and video hosting by TinyPic
Recently I've found a new show to obsess about. I was never much of a fan of Rachel Zoe, but The Rachel Zoe Project is actually pretty great. If you aren't familiar with the show, it airs on Bravo and follows celebrity stylist Zoe and her team (Brad and Taylor) at work. If you love fashion, it is worth watching the show just to see all the gorgeous clothes Zoe gets her hand on. Plus, her studio is filled with row after row of shoes, it's enough to make me have a shoegasm.

The show is a great look into the styling world, drama and all. It's really quite the fun watch. And surprisingly, even if you've already seen what everyone ended up wearing, the drama is just as fun and the clothes are just as great.
