And It Couldn't Come Soon Enough.

Image and video hosting by TinyPic
I just finished all my homework, and I can finally say that I'm caught up on all the work I missed when I was absent on Friday. Now, I can relax and go to bed, just as soon as I decide on an outfit for tomorrow.

Too bad my mind is going blank.

Perhaps an episode or two of The Nanny will stimulate it. And how couldn't those heart shaped buttons inspire me?

Things I Can't Live Without This Week.

Image and video hosting by TinyPic
Royal Rajah Ruby. This OPI nail color is so perfect for fall. I got a manicure while I was in Philadelphia and I'm totally obsessed with the color. I'm also quite fond of that ring I'm wearing. If you have any other suggestions, as far as dark nail colors go, let me know.

Image and video hosting by TinyPic
My new bracelets. I got these while I was away, and I totally love them. I wore the sort of mosaic one right away, and I can't wait to wear the other. they were both around $15 separately, but there was a good deal and I got them for $24.

Image and video hosting by TinyPic
Scarves. I've loved scarves for awhile, and I'm sure I've made it quite clear in past posts. I got this one at Old Navy. (I know I could shop there anytime, but there was a giant one in Philadelphia.) I think it was $12.50, and it was so worth it. The color is a gorgeous shade of teal. I was so enamored with it that I wore it out of the store, by the end of the day my outfit had really evolved.

Image and video hosting by TinyPic
My dog! I missed him a lot while I was away, and judging by his greeting, he missed me too. He (obviously) isn't the best model, and was quite a pain to get a photo of, but I love him anyway.

[Unrelated: I need to pick a book for a project. Wuthering Heights or Jane Eyre? Or neither?]

So Long, Farewell.

Image and video hosting by TinyPic
I'm leaving tomorrow for my weekend trip, and I won't be back until Sunday afternoon. So, do not expect an update until Sunday.

I still have homework I need to get out of the way before leaving, and most importantly, I still have to pack! I'll only be away from home for a few days, but I am known to over pack. I am going to try to keep it light. Just 2-3 pairs of versatile shoes that are easy to walk in, a pair of jeans, 2 cardigans, a dress, and a few v-necks. But then of course I have to factor in my makeup and accessories. It is a lot to consider!

Before I go off and get busy packing, I'll leave you with a few things to enjoy over the weekend.
  • Visit this website, about the products a professional makeup artist uses.
  • Listen to this song from Glee.
  • Let this dress inspire you.
  • Try lips like this.
  • And lastly, enjoy my latest Polyvore creation. Image and video hosting by TinyPic
Have excellent weekends!

PS: Half way through writing this post I spotted a giant spider scurrying around near my closet (and the door was open). I haven't mentioned this on here before, but I'm really terrified of spiders. Even after they're dead. So, now I've managed to smash it with a shoe, but it still needs to be scraped off the floor. Do you think somebody would mind if I woke them up to clean it up for me?

One Of Those Things.

Image and video hosting by TinyPic
I originally had an outfit post planned for today, but when I took the photos they turned out really dreadful. I guess I'm still getting a hang of things, next time I'll just have my dad take them for me. (He is the camera expert in the family.)

I did manage a photo of some of today's accessories. (Admittingly, not a very good one!) Another studded bracelet, silver bangles, and my favorite watch. I can't say I've ever used it to tell time, but I love wearing watches. Especially big, chunky, manly ones. I've been considering doing my own style basics/things everyone should have in their wardrobe type post, and if I were to go through with it, I would definitely feature a watch as one of the items. I think they're the perfect thing to polish off an outfit.

-

I know the posts have been a little lacking lately, and this one is no exception. I'll be getting back on track soon, and I'd appreciate what you never tire of seeing on blogs.

Besides more of the typical, I've also considered maybe bringing a few things I love from youtube over to blogging. For instance, I love watching videos on youtube where people share their makeup collection or show their favorite shoes. Maybe I'd do some sort of picture equivalent to these types of videos on the blog.

Thoughts and opinions are love. Maybe I'll develop a poll to make this simpler, but in the mean time just leave a comment with what you enjoy seeing, because I'm happy to oblige. I don't want to just keep posting pictures of my wrist decorations. I try to blog everyday, but I also don't want half those posts to feel like they're fillers until I find something important to blog about.

-

New episodes of some of my favorite shows are on tonight, including Glee. In the mean time, watch this video.

And this is only sort of related, because a new episode of America's Next Top Model is on tonight, but anyone see Tyra on Larry King? What did you think? I thought it was a good interview, and despite the fact that she might be a bit of a narcissist, she came off as charming. Also, I was surprised to see her real hair is a lot nicer than I expected it to be.

That Blur Means It's Focused.

The bracelets I wore today, and the mess I created getting ready for school (including my unfinished granola bar).

The bracelets had a bit of a studded theme. The white and yellow studded ones, as well as two plain silver ones are from Forever21. The plain silver studded ones are from Walmart. The thinner plain silver ones (without studs) are from Kohls, and the big pink studded one is from a little boutique I went to while on vacation a year ago.

The mess is courtesy of me.

On to other things.

The fashion club I joined at school last year has since fell apart, but I've made myself a member of quite a few clubs. I signed up for four originally; international, leo, student light, and amnesty international. Today my friend had me join another with her, book club. A lot of the members were into science fiction and Twilight type books, which are so not my thing, but hopefully we can fit in talking about a few good beach reads or something else enjoyable.

This week is dragging by so slowly, I'll be very happy when it is over. Now I need to go clean up that mess and snack on brie. (I love brie so much.)

If you have any blog sugggestions, I'm, as always, happy to hear them!

And The Dullness Never Ends.

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

Image and video hosting by TinyPic
Over the weekend I painted and repainted my nails so many times, but I've finally settled on this dark, eggplant purple color. For now, at least.

There isn't really much going on in my life fashion wise, I don't even have a good outfit to share. I'll get back on track tomorrow.

Today I've got to buckle down and do a reading assignment for my British literature class, and still watch One Tree Hill and Gossip Girl.

As for good news, my weekend plans have changed again and now I'm going to Philadelphia. I bet I can get some great photos to share!

Blah blah blah, I really should get to that assignment.

PS: The red writing on my hand was just a little reminder for myself!

The Day Of Rest.

Image and video hosting by TinyPic
Today was slightly disappointing because my beach plans for next weekend fell through, but I made up for it with a little shopping trip. My mom even let me drive all the way to and from the mall, which I deemed the most important driving lesson. I went to the mall with the intention of buying a new cardigan, but of course I couldn't just buy one thing.

My coolest purchase was this button scarf. Isn't it cute? It's mostly red buttons, but then there are a few green ones mixed in. I'll definitely wear it all the time when I'm taking my design course next semester, or at the very least tie it onto my bag. The best part was it had been marked down to $3!

I also got a plain black cardigan, a black scarf (I really love scarves), and a striped top. I was going to get a photo of the striped top, but I figured I'd wait and just take a photo when I wear it this week.

I also had a little battle with my mind, and gave in to buying a pair of leggings. I've always been against them, but I found a pair of plain black ones for $4.50 at Forever 21 and bought them anyway. I have this one dress that I think might be just a tad too short, and leggings will make it not go to waste. Plus, I figure if I wear them with boots, it'll hardly be noticeable. I certainly won't be wearing them as pants!

Anywho, it is time to go and confront the homework I've put off doing all weekend. I have an AP World History test to study for, and a batch of cookies to eat. Plus, I've got to fit in watching the Emmys somewhere in there.

A Little Wishing Never Hurt.

Image and video hosting by TinyPic
My birthday isn't until November, but I've already started to get ideas for what to ask for. The beginnings of my list are: YSL Parisienne perfume. The Teen Vogue Handbook, House of Harlow Sunburst ring, 90210 season 2 or 3 (the picture is actually season 4, due to Polyvore's limited choices), Coastal Scents 88 Warm palette, and the Who What Wear book.

Image and video hosting by TinyPic
Also, I've been meaning to share my latest Polyvore collage. Obviously very inspired by The September Issue.

Sorry about the lame post, I've spent the day in jammies watching an America's Next Top Model marathon. Something better tomorrow!

I Can Beat That.

Image and video hosting by TinyPic
I am so glad it is finally Friday, when I got home today I tried to watch a Project Runway rerun on Bravo and crashed towards the end. And I didn't wakeup until 6! School just makes me so incredibly tired.

Anyway, I don't have any plans for tonight so I was thinking I'd watch Breakfast At Tiffany's tonight since I read the book this week.

I don't have much going on that I can talk about today. Although, I did have a teacher make a speech today about how important it is for us to read and write. I think I do a fair share of both, but then the teacher told us he has read 84 books (for his own enjoyment, not for school) in a year before. It inspired me to try and read more. So, any suggestions? I like a fairly wide range of books. I mostly like things of the realistic fiction genre, I enjoy books that have a character who has an interest or career in fashion, I also like books with sad plots, and I'm a big fan of Meg Cabot. I'm pretty open to anything you think is good though. I prefer books to be fairly easy to comprehend, but still be thought provoking, although I am a fan of beach reads too.

Anyway, leave a comment if you have any good suggestions! I'm off to clean my room (overdue) and then settle down for the movie.

Fashion It Out Of Me.

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

Image and video hosting by TinyPic
Today when my dad came home from work he had a present for me, this book. It is called 'Figure Drawing for Fashion Design'. I'm really excited about it! I'm not much at sketching people, but I've been practicing. My dad also offered to buy me sketching materials. I already have a sketch book and pencils and stuff, but if anyone has suggestions for colored pencils or something else that might be handy, let me know.

I think I'm going to start building a collection of fashion books. My dad has been helping me out lately, so those books will make a good jumping off point. It would be hard for him to pick out clothes or something for me, but he knows I like books and he knows I like fashion, so it is the perfect gift that can't go wrong. Anyway, a bookcase full of fashion books...sounds good, doesn't it?

A few unrelated things...I love Glee, just like everyone else. I wore those floral Betsey tights I posted a while ago, and got tons of compliments. (Note to self: Buy more tights with patterns!) Today felt like a Friday, which really sucks. Tomorrow is a half day of school, which doesn't suck. And lastly, a new season of The Office premieres tonight.

Make The Hard Days Easier.

Image and video hosting by TinyPic
A long time ago, I read something Tim Gunn had said, probably in his book. He talked about how he has a go to outfit, something he can wear when nothing looks quite right, or when he is in a rush. It's something that has stuck with me since then. I don't exactly have a go to outfit, but I do have a few pieces I tend to trust. I have a purple dress that is amazingly flattering and versatile, and I also love a plain v-neck and skinny jeans for those days where everything seems gross when I put it on. Then I just spice it up with a giant ring or a collection of bracelets and a pair of fierce shoes.

What is your go to outfit?

A few other things...
  • If you didn't pick up on it from the last post, I'm reading Breakfast at Tiffany's at the moment. I'm a little obsessed to tell the truth, you saw my Audrey picture in my room, and my Audrey keychain. I really need to buy myself a copy of the book though, I'm using a copy from the local library at the moment, and it's kind of torn up. Anyway, I've been thinking that this weekend I might do a little fashion movie marathon. So far I'm thinking Breakfast At Tiffany's, Clueless, and maybe Sex And The City: The Movie. Any other suggestions.
  • Not this weekend, but the one after that I'm hoping to go away for the weekend. As long as my plans don't fall through! If all works out, I invited one of my friends to go and stay with my family at my uncle's beach house. I haven't been there in years, but apparently they renovated the house and it is now a mansion, so I'll take tons of pictures, can't say I've ever been in a mansion before. Hopefully my friend will be able to go, we could even fit in a little shopping. Plus it is the perfect time for a mini-vacation. We'll leave after school that Friday, and come home Sunday. Then we have Monday off of school, so I'll have plenty of time to do my homework and recuperate.
  • It is officially time for America's Next Top Model. I saw an ad where Mr. Jay was saying they're doing a nude shoot! Drama! I know they never produce top models, and it is really better to lose (or so it seems), but I can't help but watch. Plus, did anyone who is watching notice how awesome the model's house is this cycle? It was amazing.

I've Got A Feeling.

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

Image and video hosting by TinyPic
First of all, I don't know what is going on with the pictures lately. I used to use a different (better) camera, but it needs a new memory card, so I've been using a different one lately, and it keeps giving me problems. It washes the color out of things a lot of the time and the corners of photos seem to end up dark. (And sorry you can see a piece of my hair, a little gross but I didn't see it until I had uploaded these.)

Anyway, the first thing are my newly painted nails. Today they're painted 'passion purple'. In the photo they look blue, for some odd reason. In person they're a very vibrant purple with a pretty pinkish shimmer. I want to wear bright colors before it starts getting cooler, then I'll switch to darker ones.

On my vacation during the summer I had a bunch of purchases I wanted to show you guys but never had a camera that would work. So, one of the things I bought are these cute friendship bracelets. They were only about $3 each outside of a hippie store near the boardwalk. I thought they were really fun and cute. Today I wore a blue cardigan from H&M, and this skirt in raspberry (it is nowhere near the short on me), with a black tee and the first bracelet. The pinky/magenta in the bracelet is identical to the color in the skirt. I also wore shoes with a giant heel, and almost missed my bus after school because I have to walk so slowly in order to not tumble down the stairs. I was really feeling the bright colors today, hence the outfit. Usually I'm into darker colors, especially black, but I try to wear at least 2-3 skirts or dresses each week in order to mix things up, and I was trying to find a way to wear that magenta skirt, and this came to me.

I went to Walmart yesterday and when I was looking for a new deoderant I came across this body mist. It was really cheap, and it smells so good. I love citrus flavors and scents so so so much, and this has a great one.

Anywho, this was kind of a dull post. Is there anything you'd like to see more of on here? Anything fashion or beauty related is fair game, or just stuff about my daily life.

Send The Issue To Press.

Image and video hosting by TinyPic
I went to see The September Issue yesterday with my mother, and I have to say I really enjoyed it. I had to go a little out of my way to see it because it was hardly playing anywhere here, but the drive was definitely worth it.

Just seeing the workings of a major magazine was awesome, but I also quite enjoyed seeing Anna and her daughter Bee together, as well as their dog (surprisingly not a lap dog, and quite cute). I also enjoyed everyone's criticisms about Sienna Miller, especially her hair, and a few comments made by Anna towards the camera man about his weight.

Really, it is a must see for anyone with even the slightest interest in fashion.

Also, Anna wore a lot of necklaces like the one in that photo. She had a few different colors, but that particular one seemed to be her go-to. She wore the necklace throughout the film, maybe we'll see similar necklaces everywhere soon?

Now, I don't want to sound like somebody who saw The Devil Wears Prada and liked it so much they thought it meant they were fit to work in fashion. However, after seeing The September Issue, I'd have to say it definitely cemented the fact that I want to work in fashion. I guess I've known for a while, I was debated between careers in fashion/writing/television for a bit of time in ninth grade, but ever since I'd say, the end of the first semester, I was sure. But something about the movie, there was definitely a moment where I thought, "For sure. I want to be in this field." Not to mention, I probably had the stupidest grin on my face throughout the movie.

So yeah, it was really good. Go see it! If you already have, tell me what you thought.

On to something else. My current favorite thing to do is watch 'room tours' on youtube, where people give tours of their rooms. They're quite fun to watch. I love seeing people's super organized rooms because it makes me want everything in mine to be perfect. I was even inspired to clean my bathroom up a little last night. (So hard for me to keep that clean, I always end up with my counter covered in hair and face products.)

Anyway, I don't have much going on today. I'm going to practice driving later and then I might try a little sketching before I do my homework. And then tonight, the Design Star finale is on! Have wonderful days, I'm off to eat the chocolate chip muffin my parents got me. (Late breakfast.)

Like Confucius, Baby.

Image and video hosting by TinyPic
There isn't much to my fashion philosophy. It's pretty simple. I just believe that great style isn't defined by always looking amazing. An outfit might not always translate so well from your head to your body, and there is nothing wrong with that. I can't tell you how many times I've planned an outfit before bed and put it on in the morning and wondering what I was thinking. Sometimes you need to take risks. Sometimes they work out, and sometimes they don't. But the fact that you tried is what matters. And confidence really does make a difference. If you tug at your clothes all day, it'll ruin a perfectly good outfit.

Image and video hosting by TinyPic
And here is my latest collage. I really like this one. What do you think?

I'm going to try and see The September Issue today, I'll of course let you know what I thought!

I'm listening to About You Now by Sugababes. Listen. There is also a cute Miranda Cosgrove version, so if you're into that Disney type music, here is that one too.

And It Happened Once More.

Image and video hosting by TinyPic
What you'll find in my purse: A magazine (this months Teen Vogue), a small sketch book, tissues, my wallet/card holder, Rolaids, Aspirin, hair clips, a ponytail holder, a spare chapstick, a lip gloss (I've been wearing Victoria's Secret, Passion Fruit Pop a lot), lotion (that one is Bath and Body Works Aromatherapy Orange Ginger), my cellphone, a pen, sticky notes, my key and flash drive, and spare change.

There usually would be a few other things in there, but I've been stowing some of my stuff away in my locker at school. In my locker I have a mini lint brush, feminine products, hand sanitizer, and more lip products.

Anyway, that didn't make for much of a post! So, I made this to share with you.
Image and video hosting by TinyPic
What do you need to buy for fall? I bought a leather jacket and a pair of boots recently, so I just have these few items I want. I most desperately would like a denim jacket and a boyfriend blazer. I saw somebody wearing a jean jacket over a floral dress yesterday and it was adorable!

First off, sorry about any crooked or dark pictures.

Anyway, this is my room. I thought you all might want to see the place I (usually) blog from. Now you've gotten to see my junky television (I've had it since I was in the fifth grade!), my tiny closet, and my abundance of magazines.

It's a pretty small room (my parents haven't given in to my pleas for my brother's room, but really, what does he need with it while he is at college), but I think I've made it suit me. And to think, less than two years ago it was a mess of blue and purple and pre-teen ugliness. I painted it (or my dad did) in November '07, and since then I've been tweaking it and creating a room I can live with.

Oh, and I know it is a little hard to tell in these pictures, but the one wall is a beautiful raspberry pink shade. The color of the blanket on my bed, or the frame of my closet is probably the most accurate depiction of the color. The lighting just wasn't working for me today!

For a little comparison, here are a few pictures of my room shortly after I painted it. No more shoes on the door!

PS, I noticed both the Eiffel tower and the Audrey portrait look a little crooked, that is just my (un)handy camera work.

Also, the quality of these photos is worse than the rest I've posted because I resized these in tinypic and the rest I resized in a photo editing program before I uploaded them. Guess I learned my lesson!

Just The Beginning.

Image and video hosting by TinyPic
Excuse the crappy pictures, but after many different attempts, I've pulled together an outfit post. This is what I wore to school today, with these shoes. The dress looks kind of shapeless in the picture, but I promise it isn't It has a cute kind of bohemian type vibe in person. The ring is my current favorite, it's definitely a statement piece and holds a lot of impact. I'm also feeling the new nail color. It's called Passion Orange and is from a line called Petites. It reminded me of My Chihuahua Bites! (which I raved about earlier) but was a much cheaper alternative. I figured I'd put most of my money towards fall and winter colors, and just use a cheapie version of this because it is summer-y.

Looking back at that picture I look like a total grandma, but it definitely didn't look that way in person.

I made another blog advertisement type thing on Polyvore.

And here is my new favorite song. (My last favorite was by Tyler Hilton too, but I really love this.)

I'm Not Your Project.

Image and video hosting by TinyPic
Recently I've found a new show to obsess about. I was never much of a fan of Rachel Zoe, but The Rachel Zoe Project is actually pretty great. If you aren't familiar with the show, it airs on Bravo and follows celebrity stylist Zoe and her team (Brad and Taylor) at work. If you love fashion, it is worth watching the show just to see all the gorgeous clothes Zoe gets her hand on. Plus, her studio is filled with row after row of shoes, it's enough to make me have a shoegasm.

The show is a great look into the styling world, drama and all. It's really quite the fun watch. And surprisingly, even if you've already seen what everyone ended up wearing, the drama is just as fun and the clothes are just as great.

I finally worked out all the camera issues, so I have pictures for you. These are my purchases from Marshalls yesterday.

I got a Proenza Schouler glasses case. I'm usually not all about the label, but I did buy this despite the fact that I don't wear glasses. It was $5.99, how could I resist? Plus, my sunglasses always get scraped up, I can use it for those. I also bought a pair of floral Betsey Johnson tights (I think these were $6.99), the Marshalls around here have a great selection of Betsey tights and socks and the like. There are a lot of fun prints and cute designs, all for good prices. My last purchase was a cute set of Barbie stationary. I thought they were adorable. I don't exactly write letters very often, but maybe this will force me to. (They were $4.99, and there were a few other cute ones with different outfits.)

I wanted to say sorry for the unimpressive photos, I'm used to working with my built in webcam, so this was a change. I'll get the hang of things eventually! So, what would you like to see pictures of now? My closet (I've talked about it enough that you'd think there would be pictures by now), my room, my makeup collection, my outfits, my jewelry, my favorite things, etc. There are tons of possibilities, so let me know.

Also, I'd like to know what the best thing you've found at Marshalls/TJ Maxx, and similar stores. Or even your best find while thrifting or vintage shopping. Let me know, I love hearing about peoples cool deals.

Oh, and just for fun, here are my nails. I know the little bow on my ring finger is totally tacky, but I was bored and it seemed fun. The blue color is from Sephora, it's one of those little $5 nail polishes in the Sephora brand. I'll probably repaint them tonight, so I thought I'd share before I did. And wow, I never realize how pale I really am until I look at pictures!

PS: Jason Priestly and Tiffani Thiessen on Design Star tonight! My 90210 obsession and my new found love for interior design (ever since we started getting HGTV) are coming together. It's on at 10PM if anyone is interesting.
