On The Edge.

I just wanted to take a moment to share one of my favorite things at the moment. I'm kind of obsessed with the Urban Decay Ammo palette. I've been using it almost constantly since I bought it a few weeks ago. The colors are great and the quality is amazing.

Take Me Back.

I was on the search for a jean jacket for a while, particularly after I saw Rachel Bilson rocking one months ago. However, I didn't find one that I liked until just recently. I was on the great search for jeans, and spotted one in the sale section. It turned out it was on sale from $49.99 to just $10. The one I bought isn't online, but it is from the brand Future Favorites. They also have cute denim shirts! I've loved wearing the jacket with cute dresses. I don't think I'd ever be brave enough to wear it with jeans, I think denim on denim is a very tough look.

In summary, I've loved having my jean jacket. The only downside is that pretty soon it'll be too hot to wear it. Still, it'll be a great piece for next fall.

Call Me, Anytime.

I realized that I haven't posted about music in quite a while, so here is one of my favorite songs of the moment. I've posted other Tyler Hilton songs in the past, but this one is from his upcoming album, The Storms We Share.

I thought it was fitting to post one of his songs because I'm going to see him in concert this month.

Me and my friend are going to make shirts to wear, so I'll be sure to share the photos!

I actually did have a fashion post planned today because I was going to share my inspiration for my Egyptian inspired outfit (due this week), but I realized that after I printed it out to turn in, I didn't save the file! Oh well. Imagine: Elizabeth Taylor, hieroglyphics, and strapless rompers.

I finished another dress last week, so pictures soon. I'll have lots of projects to share over the next few weeks.

Now, I have a muslin sweater to sew and I need to be ready for Gossip Girl. See you tomorrow, lovelies!

Rocky Start.

I said that I was going to make a post every day of May, but here it is, May 2nd and I've already broken that promise! I took the SAT yesterday, so I ended up having a pretty busy day. I woke up this morning and realized I had completely forgotten. Anyway, my promise still stands, it just starts a day late.

I didn't think the SAT was terribly hard, just painfully long. But I guess we'll see what my scores say about that. Anyway, other than having to wake up early and take standardized testing, my day was actually good.

After the test I came home and there was a flea market across the street. I walked over and ended up finding a few great deals. I got season six of Friends (unopened) for just $10 (and it is a great season, can you say, "The One With The Routine), American Pie ($3), and Switching Goals ($1). Does anyone remember that movie? I love to reminisce and watch old Olsen movies. You can find them for really cheap now, and they provide me with a lot of joy.

Later that day I went and visited my brother with my family and got to see his new house. Then I came home and watched an episode of Friends, and then I really just had to crash.

Today I cleaned my room in the morning and then I went to the mall. I've been seeking out a place that would have the OPI Shrek collection in. I called 3 Trade Secrets, 1 Ulta, and been in a few other stores, and nobody had in yet. (Yes, I could have ordered it online, but I prefer not to. Anyway, I finally called a particular salon at the mall that usually has a great OPI selection and they said they had it in. I ended up buying just 2 colors, but I have a feeling that I'll be going back for at least 2 more. I bought Ogre The Top Blue (the darker blue) and Who The Shrek Are You? (the Shrek green). I think they'll be great for summer. I'm going to use the green tonight.

I also went to Michaels and bought a new Audrey Hepburn poster and bought a frame for a vintage pattern (great art).

Now, I the due dates for my dresses are getting closer and closer together, and the upcoming one is the shortest I've faced yet. So I better get to cutting out fabric pieces!

"You know that feeling you get on a Sunday? When you just have the whole day to yourself, and it's been great, but then you remember you have to go to school the next day, and it ruins the whole rest of the night."

I always think of that quote on Sundays, but nonetheless I hope everyone has a fabulous Sunday! Make the best of it. Watch The Celebrity Apprentice, Curtis Stone is quite the hottie.

Isn't It Romantic?

Here is the last dress I made! This is the one that I said was supposed to be inspired by France. Just a few weeks ago it was just a pile of fabric on our dining room table.

I was really pleased with how this one turned out, although I think it looks better in person than in these photos. (And my legs really aren't that red.)

Also, I know I just got a new camera and I should be posting amazing quality photos, but I took a picture of the photo they printed off for us at school. Next time I'll bring my camera to school.

Anyway, I have a few good posts for the next couple days, so look out for those. Plus, it's my goal for May to post everyday, even if it is just something small. I don't know how that will go though because May is my busiest month. (SATs, AP test, lots of fashion projects, etc.)

We'll Always Have Paris.

My dress (inspired by France) was due today, so I thought I'd share a little piece of my inspiration. I was inspired a lot by Chanel, particularly the elegance of their black and white pieces. I also was really inspired by this quote,
"Only great minds can afford a simple style."
Pictures of the dress will be up by the end of the week at the latest!

That Day Has Come.

Something very exciting happened today. My House of Harlow 1960 Sunburst necklace finally arrived.

I've been waiting for it to arrive before I made this post. The necklace was supposed to be a Christmas present, as I mentioned a long time ago. The order for the necklace was placed on December 12th, and it just arrived today, more than 4 months later.

The website the necklace was ordered from was The Hip Chick, a site I've never dealt with before.

I contacted Hip Chick multiple times to make sure the necklace was really coming, but they only contacted me in response to my calls and emails. They never called to assure me it was still coming unless I called first. On March 5th they did contact me to say that they were just going to be receiving a shipment of the Sunburst necklaces in on March 15th. I was told to expect the necklace by the end of March, but clearly that isn't what happened.

If the necklace had come in January I wouldn't have made this post. But four months is just too extreme, especially when it was ordered around holiday time. As happy as I am to receive my necklace, and I still had a great Christmas, it's a lot different getting it in April.

Hip Chick told me the cause behind all of this was that House of Harlow was having problems with their manufacturers and it was taking longer to complete their orders than expected. (I wasn't made aware that there weren't any necklaces in stock until I contacted them.)

In conclusion, I expect Nicole Richie to come and meet me to make up for this.

Anyway, as frustrating as it was waiting for the necklace to come and having to worry that maybe it had been ordered from an unreliable website, I couldn't be happier that it came. The chain is longer than I expected, but it is perfect. I can't wait to wear it tomorrow and as soon as my mom let me know it had arrived I started planning outfits out in my mind. Here are more pictures!
