Moment Of Excellence.

On Friday I had an important experience, I went to my first concert. It was The Spill Canvas and special guests. (My ticket has already scored a sought after spot on my bulletin board.) But most importantly, Tyler Hilton was going to be playing. I've mentioned Tyler Hilton in posts in the past (almost as many times as I've mentioned Beverly Hills 90210, so you know it's love.) If you aren't yet acquainted with him though: he played Chris Keller on One Tree Hill, Elvis in Walk The Line, and Murphy in Charlie Bartlett. (If you still don't know who he is, and really you should do this either way, go look at his youtube channel.)

So, pretty much I was very excited for this concert. Me and my friend made shirts to wear to the concert. We put studs on them, put a lyric from one of his songs, etc. They turned out pretty well!

Anyway, we arrived at 6 and nobody actually started playing until 7. When we first walked in I looked at the merchandise table for a few moments but then my friend told me we should get a spot then before more people showed up. Anyway, I started to think about what merch to buy. I ended up tweeting about it and said:

A few minutes later I saw that Tyler had actually retweeted me and said:

It was a good start to the night. After much waiting, and what were probably two pretty good bands but that weren't really the kind of music I enjoy, it was finally time for Tyler. I took a bunch of pictures, but for some reason my camera was being stupid. My pictures kept turning out extremely blurry. I'm not really sure why, I know it's a nice enough camera that they shouldn't have turned out like that, but I didn't want to miss anything by messing with the settings. I tried to salvage some of them a little with a tiny bit of editing.

Tyler's set was really good, probably even better than I expected (which was a lot.) He took a picture of the crowd for twitter, and filmed everyone singing a line of I Believe In You for a music video he's making. He sang: 16th Summer, Missing You, Ain't A Thing, This World Will Turn Your Way, Sunset Blvd., When It Comes, You'll Ask For Me, I Believe In You, and Kiss On.

About half way through his last song, Kiss On, me and my friend pushed out of the crowd so that we could get to the merchandise table where Tyler was going to meet fans. We were probably only 4th in line to meet him. I ended up buying a t-shirt and a poster (of course!) When he came back to the table the line was a lot longer (and seemed to consistently stay pretty long), and there was a lot of screaming for a few seconds. I got him to sign the shirt that we made, the shirt I bought, and my poster. He was really nice and asked about our shirts.

I took a picture with him, of course I looked dreadful in it (hence the blacked out head.)

After meeting Tyler my friend took a photo with the lead singer from one of the other bands, AM Taxi and then we headed out. Towards the door there were promotional posters for bands that were going to be playing, and there was a Tyler Hilton poster that I definitely felt like I needed. So, we asked if we could take them and the staff said sure, so we took them down.

I was very pleasantly surprised to see that the poster was double-sided.

So, all I can say is: very successful first concert, and now I just can't wait til he goes on tour again.

Day Break.

I just could not be any more ready for summer to arrive. I don't think I've ever had this much going on before!

Appreciate.

"Heaven's not a place that you go when you die, it's that moment in life that you actually feel alive."

I'm going to my first concert this week, it's Tyler Hilton and The Spill Canvas. I've been a Tyler Hilton fan for a long time, but I only had really ever heard one Spill Canvas song prior to ordering my concert tickets. So, I decided it was necessary to acquaint myself with more of their music. This is the song I've taken a liking to!

Now, go tell your mother that you love her!

When You're Actually Alive.

You've read any of my recent posts you probably now that this past week I was working on an Egypt inspired outfit. Part of making the outfit is also doing inspiration research and when I did my research I looked at all the photos of Elizabeth Taylor in Cleopatra and noticed the great eye makeup.

I was inspired to buy Maybelline's gel eyeliner so that I'd be able to try the winged eyeliner look. I've only has the chance to use the product once, but so far so good. It seems like pretty good quality. The brush it comes with is different than eyeliner brushes I've dealt with in the past, I think I actually like this one.

What new products have you tried recently?

When It Comes.

Here is a vintage pattern I bought for less than $4.00 and had framed. (It isn't framed yet in this photo, I took this when I first bought it.) Very easy art!

Heart Beating.

Image and video hosting by TinyPic
I looked at the clock a moment ago and realized I only had 7 minutes left until it was a a new day, and that I hadn't posted yet.

Anyway, I have another project due tomorrow. It's supposed to be inspired by Egypt, and I ended up making a romper.

I've actually never worn a romper before, but I've wanted to try one for a while. So, I guess we should hope I can pull it off!

What do you think of rompers? Do you have any? Would you wear one?

(Photos of the romper and my other recent project soon!)
