I'll admit I am not the biggest risk taker, and this remains true when it comes to fashion. I love it and can fully appreciate (and envy) other people's risks, but making my own is another story. Which is why, the only explanation I can think of for my most recent risk was that I must've been inspired by the fact that Carrie Bradshaw is back, they've started filming the second film. Because really, who takes risks better than Carrie? I didn't exactly step out of my comfort zone, but it probably wasn't the outfit I'd have thought of off the top of my head. I wore the (almost) floral print scarf in the picture above and a striped cardigan. It isn't exactly the world's biggest risk, but I think mixing patterns can be tricky. Not all of us do it as breezily as the girls on SATC or Gossip Girl. Plus, I'm sure a lot of us have been taught old fashion rules that aren't really true anymore. I mean, I'm certainly aware that there is nothing wrong with mixing neutrals (black and brown, blue and black), but it always pops into my head that the rule does exist. Anyway, I was happy to take a little risk, and was happy with the results. What was the last risk you took?
Besides scarves and pattern mixing, my other obsession at the moment is listening to Tyler Hilton covers. I've been a fan for a while, ever since I spotted him on One Tree Hill (really, that show might be totally cheesy and soap-tastic, but they know good music). Listen to his cover of Won't Back Down, and then listen to this one of Use Somebody.
If you need something else to watch, watch this and envy Miley Cyrus' closet with me.
